So, this past week, my parents came out to see their favorite NY Grandkids. And of course I can say that in truth, because all of their other Grandkids are from Michigan. It was a short visit, but a good one, nonetheless. On their first night we all enjoyed BOGO two scoop sundaes from Baskin Robbins while watching America’s Got Talent (for the record, this is the best way to get delicious ice-cream for a reasonable price, in my opinion).
The next few days were filled with shopping (for the girls since it’s one of our favorite things to do together) and eating fun food. We made sure Grandpa and Grandma got to enjoy New York Bagels from Pete’s and also treats from the Beach Bakery.
Since the heat wave didn’t hit till today, we also enjoyed a few evening walks as well. I absolutely love seeing our kids get to spend time with their grandparents. This girl and her Grandma have such a special relationship and it always makes me smile seeing how happy she is when Grandma is in town.
To beat the traffic, my parents left early this morning and I just got the text from my mom that they reached home safe and sound. Living away from family has never been easy, but it always makes our times together that much more special. I’m so thankful that my parents were able to come and visit us and we are definitely looking forward to seeing them later this summer when we head their way for a visit.
