I can still remember our very first Breakaway Youth Group Retreats. We had a small group of amazing students and we had an amazing time spending the weekend away with them in Pennsylvania.
Our second year in, we brought along our three month old baby. Because why not? And we knew he’d be surrounded by the students that we all loved. (and how funny to think that while this will be his thirteenth year of Breakaway, it will also be his second official as a student).
Who knew that 15 years later, all of those students would be grown adults, but some of them would come back to help out at Breakaway as leaders?
And who knew then that this one, would grow up to become a Youth Pastor and come back this year to be our Speaker for the weekend.
We’d truly enjoyed 15 years of Breakaway retreats and we could not be more thankful to do what we do.
We’ve had hundreds of kids attend this life changing weekend and we are really looking forward to another great retreat which starts today.
We are bringing an incredible group of students and leaders (many who were some of our students in those very first years) and meeting up with friends from both New Jersey and Michigan who will be joining us as well.
Mitch Connelly will be our speaker this weekend and will be sharing his heart and words of truth with our teens. We are so incredibly excited to hear the encouragement that he will be sharing.
From our first Breakaway to now, we know the amazing potential that this weekend has to offer. Will you please pray for our Breakaway group? For safety and travels and for good health for all. Please pray for God to work great things into the hearts of our students and leaders and that they will leave this weekend changed for good. Please pray for the groups traveling from Michigan and New Jersey who will be joining us in Pennsylvania. Thank you so much and I look forward to sharing more about our weekend in the days to come.
