I talked to Sally tonight.  Over the past few weeks, I had heard updates about Michael from friends, but tonight was the first time that I was able to really talk to Sally and hear what has been going on.

I wish I had better news.  But what I learned was that Michael is not doing well at all.  After being in his new Rehab for a short time, he was sent to a community hospital Upstate and has been there ever since.  Sally shard that things have not been going well since they aren’t equipped to be able to help with Michael’s various needs.  And because of this, Michael’s health has been deteriorating.  Which is a devastating blow.

Sally shared that her deepest desire and prayer is to be able to bring Michael home.  Home to Long Island, home to Eastport.  Home to where he can be surrounded by family and friends and his church and his community.

This in itself has many obstacles.  But this is where we can come in.  Would you first join me in praying for what is best for Michael?  For God to work out whatever needs to happen for Michael to be thriving once again?  Sally is advocating.  She has been by his side non-stop since the very beginning.  She knows her son and his needs and wants what is best for him but there will be challenges and prayer is needed for wisdom and strength in the process.

The other tangible need within all of this is for work to be done on the Einfeldt’s home so that if it was possible for Michael to come home, that he would be able to come home to a place that was well equipped.  Sally shared that they had friends who were already stepping forward to help.  But right away, I thought about our amazing church and this wonderful community.  I wondered who might be out there that would be able to help with what would be needed.

Sally’s prayer is that Michael could be cared for here.  That he could be surrounded by his family and friends and in the environment that is home.  And I promised her that I would share her words so that we could start praying for what would be best for Michael.  She told me, “Michael wants to come home.  I asked him and he couldn’t blink “yes” enough.”

These prayers might seem impossible because there is a whole medical and legal system to navigate through.  And I don’t know all of the answers and I don’t know how it would all work out.  But I do know that we love and serve an amazing God who makes all things possible.  Who works all things out for the good of those who love him.

So once again, I’m asking for prayers.  For prayers for Sally and for Michael and for their family.  For prayers that God would work on Michael’s behalf that he might be able to come back and be cared for at home.  For prayers for the right people to help and for Michael’s best interest to be had.  And for prayers for his health that he would start to heal and recover again.

And along with the prayers I’m wondering if there are people out there who could help renovate the Einfeldt’s home when needed.  Everything is very preliminary right now.  But  if we could get people together to be on call if things are a go, then this is a big and beautiful way that we could show our love to a family that has been through so very much.

Please keep these things in prayer.  Amidst all of the struggles and negativity in our world right now, this is an opportunity to do something beautiful and good.  If you are able and willing to help in any way, please send a message and we will get a team together to be on call for these possibilities.  I believe that God can make good in all of this.  I have hope for the very best and I have faith that God will work all things out for good.

Most importantly like you said Laura, we serve an awesome loving God, so we pray and What goes up in prayer, comes down in blessings and therefore we praise Him for answered prayer!
