My first photography session of the year came unexpectedly on the what was probably the warmest day we’ll have this month.  On Wednesday, when temps were comfortably in the 50s, I got a call from a young man named James, who was looking to have headshots done.  Because I shoot on-location, I’m limited, especially when the cold weather rolls around.  Thankfully, he was able to meet up that day, which is exactly what we did.

James was a lot of fun to work with.  We made our way around Westhampton, chatting about life and finding different locations to work with.

I learned that James is currently a freshman in college, taking business classes.  He’s taken an interest in acting though, which is where the need for headshots came in.

I had a great time talking with James about his future dreams and aspirations.  I love that there are so many paths that one can take in life.  They may not always look the same as others, but that is the beauty of living in a diverse world with many opportunities.

We finished up our session and I was able to get his portraits edited quickly so that he could start to send them out with his resume.  Though unexpected, it was a wonderful session, extra blessed with a random day of great weather.  Considering that just a couple of days later, there are a few inches of snow currently covering the ground, it seems that we were able to get this session done just in time.  I wish James all the best and he starts new adventures and am so thankful to have my first session of the year completed.
