Beach Day

When the days are hot and humid, nothing beckons louder than the cool roar of the ocean.  Today was one of those days, so we hopped in our little boat and sailed across the Bay to meet up with some friends for an afternoon at the beach.

I brought cupcakes.  Because, well, cake by the ocean always sounds good to me.

And it was just a pretty awesome afternoon.  I didn’t bring my big camera and only had my iPhone 5 with me.  However, it did a pretty solid job of catching fun memories throughout the afternoon.  Our friend Joseph inspired this fun shot, which I pieced together this evening using Photoshop.  This was the result of one of his attempts.

And this was the result of our friend Justin’s.  Somehow Steve-O was the good sport being the one jumped over both times.

And then we surfed.  Well, to be honest, they surfed.  I mostly watched and tried to get a little relief from the heat.  The waves were crazy and broke right on the shore so it made it challenging to even wade in the water today.

Ellee kept me company though, and loved trying out my Mother’s Day gift that just came in the mail yesterday.  It’s a LayBag and after getting the hang of filling it up, we all had fun hanging out on it throughout the afternoon.

I have to give credit to these guys, who braved the crazy waves today in an attempt to catch a few while surfing.

And also credit to this incredible Long Island that we live on.  I’m biased, but I think we have some of the most amazing beaches and I’m so glad that we got the chance to hang out at one today with our awesome and amazing friends.
