I hadn’t posted a recent update for Michael, because we didn’t get the chance to see him till today. Spring tends to be busier for me with my Photography business and for us with lots of church and end of the school year events for our kids. This last week, was packed full, so as hard as it was, we weren’t able to get up to Kings Park.
I knew things were okay though. And it was really nice to know that others were getting up there to be with Michael. Yesterday, Pastor Charley and Jan who were here visiting for the week went up to see Michael. And he also got a visit from our friend Steven and his mom Alma, who gave him his first professional hair cut since the accident.
So all that being said, today was pretty special. We stopped to pick up Sarah and then enjoyed an incredibly beautiful drive up to St. Johnland’s Rehab. When we got there, Michael was up in his chair and ready to go. We had about an hour before therapies, so we made the most of it with a walk around the grounds of the Rehab.
It was really, the best day. Michael’s been pretty solid at Rehab and is making little gains every day. Sally shared some good news about a few things that the doctors had been concerned about. An appointment last week confirmed that everything is well, so for that we praise God! I’m so thankful to know that He is for Michael and He is working still on his behalf.
A friend posted a verse that was a great reminder and encouragement for me today. Isaiah 60:22 says, “At the right time, I, the LORD, will make it happen.”
It’s really hard sometimes to see people you love hurting. We have prayed so long for healing and recovery for our dear friend. But the truth of it is, is that God is working. God is restoring and healing. It might not be in the timing that we want, but God promises that at the right time, he will make it happen.
I’ve seen God work great miracles through Michael’s life and know that He will continue to work miracles in His best time. Till then, we keep praying for Michael. For his family. For his doctors and his nurses and his therapists. Prayers for healing. Prayers for peace and comfort. Prayers that we would trust that God would work in His best timing, for Michael and in our lives.
Thank you for continuing to share in Michael’s story.
This is wonderful. My prayers are still going up, and to hear things are progressing well means it is right. Such good news.
