Just down Montauk Highway, turning up through East Pond Lane you’ll find a creative and highly-motivated Mom of three, hand-making the most beautiful and all-natural products in the front kitchen of her Eastport home. Her name is Jamie Venturo and I had the opportunity to meet with her this afternoon to learn more about her home-based business, Live Free Organic.
I found out about Jamie because I had been looking for some local natural products. Like every other person on social media who reads through posts, I get a daily reminder of how many chemicals are found in so many of the products that we use every day. Granted, I’ve come to the point where I can’t get too stressed out about it, but I’ve also decided that I want to try to do what I can to help myself and my family use healthy and pure products. When I reached out to Jaime to inquire about Live Free Organic, she was so kind and sent me a gift box filled with some of her best-selling items to check out. What follows is my own personal review of these incredible products and what you can do to check them out as well.
This first item was one that I had initially been most interested in. With summer coming fast and a great desire to take our family fun outdoors, I knew that I had wanted to find some safe and natural insect and tick repellent. Last year I read a few articles on how bad bug repellent with Deet can be and it was enough to encourage me to try other options. I loved the fresh fragrance of the Live Bug Free spray and noticed right away that it contained the top essential oils for naturally repelling pesky insects. This spray sells for $15 a bottle and will definitely be a go-to for our family as we enjoy the great outdoors this summer.
Which brings me to my next Live Free Organic product, Sun Protection. Sunscreen is another item that we all need to use as we enjoy the beautiful beaches that we have out here on the South Shore of Long Island. However, it’s also one that is often times overloaded with harmful chemicals. Having a natural option to protect our family this summer is something that I am definitely thankful for. The consistency of Sun Protection is a bit thicker than the sunscreens that we are used to, but I love knowing that it’s all natural. Sun Protection is $14 and comes in an easy to apply twist-up container.
The next product was one of my personal favorites. Live Free Organic’s Soy Vanilla Pineapple candle smells absolutely amazing! I’m not a huge candle person, but remember going to a Scentsy party where I learned that most candles give off lots of bad chemicals as we burnt them in our homes. Of course with this product, you’ll get a lovely, scented and natural product that burns much cleaner and will leave your home smelling quite fresh and beautiful. The Soy Candles come in a variety of scents and are $25 each or two for $40.
If you love a good shower scrub, you’ll definitely love Live Free Organic’s Brown Sugar Vanilla Scrub. It comes in a cute little jar with it’s own wooden spoon, and Ellee and I have both enjoyed using this sweet smelling scrub. Again, it’s made with pure and natural products and makes a lovely gift for yourself of someone you love.
Jamie told me that her Natural Deodorant is her absolute favorite product. She told me that she spent two years perfecting this formula. She was motivated to create it after learning more about how harmful the metals are in most deodorants that you’ll find in store. The Orange Bergamot has a nice and light scent and there is also a sensitive brand option as well. This vegan deodorant is $15 and is a great option for those looking for a natural deodorant to try.
So of course I loved this next product. Because I’ve been happily working my way through a $25 two-week trial at Buddha Beach Hot Yoga. I should definitely post about that soon. That being said, the Yoga Mat Spray was the perfect way for me to get my sweat drenched yoga mat smelling fresh and clean after each use.
Ellee got to be the recipient of the adorable two scoops of bath bombs. At $12, they are a sweet smelling way to add fun to bath time. We’ve always loved the bath bombs from LUSH, so getting to try new ones that were adorable and local was a very fun option. Jamie’s bath bombs were incredible! They had wonderful scents and lots of fizz and were very fun to use.
Ellee and I both also loved the lip scrub. At $5, it’s a tasty way to leave your lips smooth and sweet. I think as I was checking out all of Jamie’s products, I really loved being able to share them with our daughter as well. Jamie shared that her daughter was one of the inspirations for her as she began to create her safe and natural products.
Our daughter Ellee was also a great candidate for the Headache Essential Oil Roll On ($25). Made with pure essential oils, it comes in a handy little bottle that is perfect for a backpack or purse. Ellee tends to get headaches in school at times, so I’m glad to be able to send this with her so that she can find some natural relief. The Roll On has a fresh smell and is easily applied to the forehead, temples and back of the neck for a natural headache relief.
Wrapping this up, Jamie also sent me some lip balm ($3), which I loved.
As well as a few of her natural soap samples ($1.50 each). Both products were simple and straight-forward, high-quality and natural.
All in all, I couldn’t have been more thrilled to try these beautiful Live Free Organic products. Each was carefully crafted and packaged right in our beautiful town of Eastport.
And I’m sharing this all with you for a few good reasons. First of all, I love natural products. I love using things that are chemical-free and I feel even better using them with our kids and our family. Live Free Organic has many products that are just plain good to use.
And secondly, I love supporting local small businesses. I always feel great knowing that I’m helping people who are working hard as business owners. Jamie is a perfect example of this. Her products are wonderful and they were created with purpose and love. Live Free Organic is located right in the beautiful town of Eastport and is about as local as you can get. Jamie creates her products right in her own beautiful home and you can find more information about them online at livefreeorganic.net. If you live close by, you can also find a limited amount of her products at Manikur in Speonk. Live Free Organic is on Facebook as well.
With Mother’s Day coming up Live Free Organic had a variety of beautiful items and gift baskets that any Mom would love! So please feel free to check out Jamie’s products and join me in supporting this wonderful local small business.
