Be Strong

I got a voicemail from Sally today and when I heard it my heart was afraid.  Because a few seconds into the message Sally shared “Michael has to go back to Stony Brook.”  Listening to the rest of the message though, it had to do with a test showing something and that the trip was mostly just about protocol and after hearing that I could relax a bit.

Lately, I’m realizing that there are so many things that we could live in fear of.  It only takes a quick switch over to any news station to hear stories that make our hearts skip beats and our anxiety rise.  On bad days, these stories kind of make me want to hide out in my bed all day and never leave my home.  But thankfully, most days aren’t bad days, and I do my best to push myself over these feelings and move on with what God has for me instead.

I’m thankful to share that Michael is back at Rehab tonight.  So again, it’s been another exhausting day for both him and his family.  And that definitely gets a bit discouraging at times.  Sally also shared that he has been storming more today when could also be another cause for concern.

But tonight, I’m going to make a conscious decision.  Because I don’t want to live in fear.  I don’t want to dwell on the negative or worry about things that I have no control over.  Nope, tonight, I’ll chose to dwell on Isaiah 35:4.  I’ll chose to be strong in God’s strength knowing that He will come to save me from whatever it is I need saving from.

Michael continues to need our prayers.  Please pray for his storming and for comfort and peace for him as he waits for the medicine to work.  God knows and loves our Michael and He is faithful to all of His promises.  So tonight, we can join in trusting that He will come to help and to save Michael in any and all of his obstacles.
