No Eye Has Seen

When we went to Costa Rica on a missions trip last summer, we had this day off to just take in and enjoy the incredible beauty that was all around us.  I remember driving into a jungle-like area and seeing crocodiles and these beautiful tropical rainforest birds and just being amazed at God’s great creation  It was hard to fathom the ingenuity and creativity that it took to make everything that we saw that day.  And I remember in that moment being completely awed by God and who He is and what he made in those beautiful rainforests of Costa Rica.

I know for fact that I will never be able to understand everything about God and who He is and what He’s done or what He will do.  And I suppose I’m glad about that.  Because that would make him quite small indeed and I know for fact that the God that I love and serve is a great and big and mighty God who does great and big and mighty things.

And I write these truths tonight, because I want to testify that God is doing great an big and mighty things in and through Michael.  Sally told me tonight that the doctors are baffled at how Michael’s shunt started working again.  She told me that there are things going on right now that they are not able to explain.

But I believe that God is working, and that a mighty and big and powerful God isn’t always able to be explained.  I believe the words of 1 Corinthians 2:9 that say that no eye has seen or ear heard or mind conceived the things that God has in store for those who love him.

God is working in a mighty way for Michael.  It might not be able to be explained, but we can know that God has worked good and that He will continue to work good for Michael.

Tonight, Sally asked that we pray for wisdom and clear guidance for Michael’s doctors and nurses.  I secretly have been praying that God would show His mighty work to them through Michael.  Michael is still having some issues with storming and is running a fever on and off and this could use prayers as well.  And because of his current state he has not been able to be as alert or receptive, so prayers for this would be greatly appreciated.  Overall, we just pray that things will work out the way that they need to so that our dear friend Michael can head off to rehab and get to where he needs to be.

But please know that God is indeed hearing and answering our many prayers.  Also, on a side note, I’m so excited to share that both Ron and Lana are doing better!  Sally had asked that we pray for these two who were struggling.  She texted me that our prayers have been witnessed in great healing for them and their families greatly appreciate it and praise God’s grace.
