I’m so incredibly thankful to share that I know for certain that God has heard out prayers and that He has worked on Michael’s behalf.  And for that, I just thank and praise God!

But first, some memories.  Ones that date back to our 2015 Costa Rica Missions Trip.  I think it’s safe to say that overall, we had an incredible time on that trip.  We made some great memories together and strengthened friendships as well.

I suppose it’s not a difficult thing to do when you’re surrounded by such incredible people.

Our team that year was pretty awesome.  We worked hard, we played hard and most importantly we had an incredible time as we served our Great God in the beautiful town of Belen, Costa Rica.

Michael was there, of course, and so was our incredible friend, Cameron.  We all love Cameron for many reasons.  He’s a great guy and has this quiet, but steady presence that I know his friends all value and appreciate.  I know Michael loved and appreciated Cameron and it was awesome to see their friendship grow over the years.

I have to be honest.  I was nervous about driving up to see Michael today.  As I shared yesterday, Michael was having a bit of a hard time.  He had developed a fever that was concerning since it had the possibility of being tied to an infection from his recent shunt surgery.

However, I was so thankful to receive a text from Sally as we headed up.  She shared that his fever was down.  They adjusted the internal shunt so he was able to be a bit more responsive.  Thanks to the judgement of his wise Mom, they also adjusted some of his other medications to accommodate his storming and heart rates.  And in this text, Sally shared the best news, and that is that the doctors did not think that Michael’s fevers were from an infection by the shunt site.

This was a huge, huge relief.

And when we walked into Michael’s room, we could immediately see that he was responding so much better.  As we arrived, he was waking up a bit and when he saw us was wide eyed awake and looked purposely from both Jeremy and I to his parents.  He seemed much more relaxed and much more comfortable today and I couldn’t help but thank and praise God for answering our many, many prayers.

We enjoyed a nice visit.  After Sally left to get some rest before work tonight, Sarah, Luke and our awesome friend Cameron came up to hang out with Michael.  It had been awhile since Cameron was able to see Michael, so it was really so great to see them hanging out together again.

And on behalf of Michael and his family, I just want to thank everyone for their continued prayers for Michael, and especially for the most recent prayers for healing.  It seems like Michael is heading in the right direction and again, thankfully appears that his fever is not related to his shunt at this point.

We can continue praying, but I would be remiss to not take time to thank God for hearing our prayers and for healing and working so wonderfully on Michael’s behalf.  We serve a great, great God who loves us and who works to help us.  He deeply desires that we would reach out to Him and He works so incredibly for our good.  And for this, I am so thankful.

Please continue to pray.  But do so, knowing that our God is working for Michael.  Thank you all so much!
