Ever Present Help

T

Today’s update comes a bit early, with a specific request from Sally that I told her I would share with everyone.  We met with her briefly today, up at the hospital.  Michael had a tougher night after a much-needed procedure yesterday.  Sally shared that she sat in the balance of hearing what the neuro-doctor was telling her and what her faith and God was telling her and that it’s been a pretty tough time.

The truth of everything, is that Michael endured some very serious brain injuries in his accident.  I personally believe that it’s a miracle that he is still here with us.  And this whole journey really will be full of ups and downs.  And yes, I know from a medical perspective that it’s definitely a rough situation.

But I also know that God is working.  I know that God is with Michael and that God can work above and beyond what we could ask or imagine.  I know that God is working in this situation.  I don’t know what the outcome will be.  But I know that I can trust in the One who does know and who will continued to be glorified through Michael’s life and testimony.

Sally’s Bible passage of the morning was Psalm 46.  And I just want to encourage those of us who are struggling.  Who are questioning.  Who are hurting.  Read Psalm 46.  There is such truth in this chapter of God and his great work.  He is a refuge and strength to those who are in trouble.

Please take a minute to read Sally’s message below.  And please dear friends, keep on praying and sharing.

I just want to take a moment to thank everyone for their prayers and support. Everyone has been so wonderful, Michael is in a critical state right now and needs rest. We need to maintain an environment for him with very little stimulation. He needs His father and I and his sisters to be strong for him. I know I have been in that position where someone you love and care about is struggling and in pain and you want to help them to feel better even if it’s just a little bit. You want them to know you love them and show them you care and you are there for them in any way you can. The best thing you can do for him and for us right now is just prayer! Believe me when I tell you that even though you are not here physically or doing something physically for us your prayers are felt and are the best thing for him and our family at this time. The power and grace of god is great and the best gift you can give. Love you all and thank-you from the bottom of my heart !
