Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!  At least it was for our family, tonight in our home.  Since we are heading out, we decided to do our traditional Thanksgiving meal with Nana and Papa while we were all together.

So, we grabbed some juicy steaks, and our favorite sides, and enjoyed a beautiful meal together.  By the way, we don’t eat turkey, because we love birds and couldn’t imagine harming one, just for a Thanksgiving meal.  Totally kidding.  We just don’t actually like to eat turkey all that much so a few years ago, we decided to finally just eat what we love.  No regrets since.

It was fun to spend time all together.

We shared what we were thankful for.

And then shared funny family memories.

After dinner and dessert, we sat down to play a few rounds of Spot it.  Aunt Leslie and Aunt Sarah sent it to Ellee for her birthday and we’ve all had fun playing it.

And after that, Ellee shared her Shopkins with Nana

While the guys talked all things sports and Apple.

And that sums up our beautiful Thanksgiving night.

Which reminds me that I wanted to take a minute to share my short list of things that I’m thankful for.  Here goes…

Family, near and far.

Ellee’s giggles.  I’m biased, but I think she is the most darling girl in the world and I’m so thankful that she’s ours.

Christian getting a 95 on his Social Studies test that was primarily about ancient Israel.  It’s pretty cool to see our son learn accurate Bible facts and lessons from his public school.

Last minute packing.  Which I need to do because I haven’t done anything yet.  The procrastinator in me says I still have plenty of time before tomorrow afternoon.

My Mom friends.  That I hung out with this morning.  There is nothing more refreshing than getting together to share life and eat bagels.  At least in my opinion.

Jeremy.  Because I love him so much.

And to end my short list.  I’m so thankful for God and His great love for us.  I’m thankful to know that He is loving and faithful and will be watching out for our family over the next week and a half.  I’m thankful that He’s blessed us with so many things to be thankful for.

And that would wrap up this post.  To friends and family, far and near, Happy Thanksgiving!  May you have much to be grateful for and a wonderful weekend full of family, food and fun.
