“Are you writing about me?” Ellee asked as I sat down at my desk. “Of course,” I relied, “It’s your birthday.” “Yay! I’m famous. Just kidding,” was her reply before skipping away to look at her presents.
Ah, my sweet silly girl.
Moving on. Today is Ellee’s 9th Birthday. We started our day out as we always do on birthday days…
With fancy bear-shaped pancakes, of course. Ellee giggled her way through her breakfast and it was a lovely way to start out her special day.
Afterwards, she headed downstairs to admire her beautiful birthday bike. Truth be told, she’s had it for a few days now. With the mild Fall weather that we’ve had coming to a close, we wanted her to get a few days extra of riding in. Needless to say, she was still delighted.
The rest of the presents had to wait, since school was calling. I stopped the crew for an official Birthday picture before they headed out. Ellee was excited to bring in treats for her class and enjoy a day of celebrating her birthday at school. However, since tonight was a Youth Group night, we wanted to do something special with Ellee.
So we picked her up early and brought her home to unwrap some of her presents.
The we headed out to see The Peanuts Movie, which was adorable and funny and had a great message as well. It was Ellee’s birthday choice and it was perfect. Afterwards, we stopped at Applebees for dinner and had a great time there as well.
I love spending birthdays together. Since we don’t have any extended family in New York, many years it’s just the four of us. It becomes such a special time though and we love these days of celebrating.
After the movie and before Youth Group, Ellee got the chance to open the rest of her gifts. There were cards from family and friends and Ellee giggled her way with delight through each one.
She excitedly unwrapped all sorts of gifts and treasures and I know she loved every one.
Daddy got her a beautiful Princess Bible and she absolutely loved it.
And all in all, it was the perfect day. Ellee Cameron, we love you so much and are so proud of you and all that you’ve done. We are so excited for your ninth year and pray that it will be a great one. We cannot wait to see the great things that God has in store for you and pray that everyday you will grow to be exactly who God created you to be. Happy Birthday Precious Girl, we love you so very much!
*Also, to everyone who was so sweet and took the time to wish Ellee a Happy Birthday, thank you! We read through the messages tonight, and she was so happy to hear all of the kind and well wishes. Thank you for loving our daughter and for sharing such thoughtful messages!
