First, a story. I have to admit. I’m a bit of a Halloween Scrooge. I can’t help it. I’m not a fan of dressing up in costumes. I personally don’t like scary things. And I don’t like excessive candy. All that being said, when Ellee came home from school and asked to bring in Halloween treats to share with her friends for her class party, my initial response was a “No.” Because I knew that most kids would be getting a ton of candy this weekend anyways and I didn’t want to have to try to come up with something. Like I said, I’m a Scrooge.
But then I got to thinking. And I love that our daughter has such a sharing heart. She always has. I still didn’t want to make up packs on candy, but I looked around and soon came up with an alternative.
We had bought tiny packs of organic fruit snacks. So I bundled a few up together and printed out labels. When the labels were a bit on the plain side, I then took twenty minutes to add a little color to them.
In addition, I was able to find 24 Magnetic Photo Pockets that I had picked up a few years ago, knowing that at some moment, I would be really glad that I had gotten them. This, was that moment. So I combined the two small gifts together and came up with a fun present for Ellee to share with her friends. And I had a kind of proud of myself Mom moment. Because sometimes, we do things sheerly because we love our kids. And this was one of those times.
I finished up the gifts just in time for Ellee’s Halloween Party. I was so happy to be one of the Moms who got to come in and help out. It was so fun to see Ellee in her class with her teachers. She has two and they are absolutely amazing.
It was also fun to see Ellee with her third grade friends. This particular group all went to the same preschool as Ellee and it was so sweet to see them altogether and all so grown up.
The class party was fun. The kids got to have snacks and play Halloween bingo and other fun games.
I’m so thankful for the amazing mom friends that I got to see today too. This one in particular is so sweet and so fun and did a great job getting things together for this special day.
It was a huge treat to get to spend the afternoon with our darling girl and her amazing class. We all are excited for a fun and full weekend, and even though it’s not my favorite holiday, I’m looking forward to enjoying it with the ones I love.
This is a great story, and beautiful pictures. Thank you for sharing
