Around our House today…
I just have to ask. Am I the only one who washes the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher? I know it sounds silly. And at times it makes it impossible to know if the dishwasher contains clean or dirty dishes. But it’s just what I do. I think it might stem from a lack of trust: for the actual dishwasher, or the Finish Dishwashing tabs? I’m not exactly sure. Either way, it does ensure that our dishes come out extra sparkly, and for that, I’m happy.
A Tale of Two Boots.
So a few weeks ago, I bought the pair on the left at Savers. I’ve always wanted a pair of tall boots because I think they are so fun, especially for the Fall. They were beautiful, they fit perfectly and they were comfortable too. And I paid about $10 for them. From the tags, I learned that they were Croft and Barrow and retailed for about $80 online. Since I loved them so much, I decided to get another pair in black. I found a similar style and with coupons and sales, picked up the pair on the right for a great price. However, when I got them, they didn’t fit over my big, muscular calves. It was a bit of a flashback from the last time I tried to buy rain boots. So, they’ll get returned to the store. And I think I’ll just be content with my beautiful thrift store boots that somehow fit perfectly.
Stuff
The bottom of our stairs has become a landing board for “Stuff that needs to be carried up to the Green Room” (our spare room). Why, I’m not sure? Somehow placing it at the bottom of the stairs is just so much easier than walking the ten steps up to put it where it belongs. Also, I got those five boxes of cereal for $8 total last night using rewards and sales from Rite Aid. It’s been hard to find time to coupon a lot since the days seem so full, but I do what I can.
Tower of Power
I got the Espresso Cup tower from Target last week for $9.99. I think it’s adorable and it worked perfectly for Moms Group which we had on Tuesday. Little fun things like this just make me happy. What can I say, I’m a simple girl. Also, I didn’t mention here, but Jeremy and Christian took a weekend trip out to Seattle. They had an amazing time with Nana and Papa. Jeremy flew out to be a speaker for an AWANA conference and also ended up preaching at his home church. While out there, Jeremy stopped at his favorite Teriyaki place and brought back a huge bottle of sauce. I’m super excited to use it for Chicken Teriyaki later tonight.
And finally, Longboard short.
Christian’s Papa had this surprise waiting for him in Seattle. Christian was thrilled to get his very own longboard and it was such a fun and thoughtful gift. We’re looking forward to visiting with Papa and Nana here when they come out in a few weeks. More on that, to come…
And that’s a few fun things happening, around our house. Happy Thursday everyone!
