So this would be an Ode of sorts. Because today, our friend Victoria Chan is leaving for college. We love her and we are really going to miss her. So this post is a bit of an Ode to her. It’s also a bit of an Ode to her and Ellee and their friendship over the years which has consisted of lots of pictures and lots of times saying they are the sisters to each other that neither of them ever had. And finally, it’s an Ode to longevity in Youth Ministry. Because I cannot say enough what a blessing it is to know a student from the time that they are in Jr. High all the way up through their going to college years. Victoria is one of the many amazing students that we have had this relationship with. And every time, it makes me so thankful to be able to do what we are doing.
So, to Victoria, and everyone that is heading off to college this fall. Know that we, your church and your youth group love you and are so proud of you. Know that we expect to hear great things of what you’re doing as you prepare for the rest of your life. Work hard in your college classes (because you or your parents and probably the government are paying good money for your education. Just saying.) Find your life’s calling and let it be a good one. Get ready to change to the world in some big or small way. Because big and small ways are both important. Find a good group of college friends that will love you, support you and that will love Jesus too. And do great things with them. Finally know that when you come home, we will be here for you. Know that we love being a part of your life and that you have blessed us in being a part of ours.
How sweet…Such a beautiful friendship.
