This past week has been a slow easing back into normal summer life for our family. After being away for the past three weeks, I think it’s something that we were all ready for. So we’ve enjoyed some hangout time with our family and with friends and quite a few pool and beach outings too. Today was pretty awesome because Jeremy and Christian entered their first Spikeball Tournment. Our friends Zach Rosado and Zach Biscardi set it up and they did a fantastic job.
In case you hadn’t heard of it, Spikeball is a hybrid volleyball game with a miniature ball and a net on the ground. There are official rules and even a website where you can learn more about the game, enter tournaments and join the whole Spikeball revolution. The creators were featured on Shark Tank and it’s been a game that our family has enjoyed playing since we heard about it last year. So that being said, here are a few pictures from the tournament to share a bit more about our afternoon.
Our friends, the Zachs.
One of these days, she’ll let me tie up her hair so it’s not all in her face. For now, she doesn’t care, so I’ll try not to either.
This guy plays with heart, every time.
Jon and John joined us for a fun afternoon. Apparently our friends don’t have much diversity when it comes to their names.
I am so proud of Christian. He was the only 10 year old there and most of the rest of the teams had players twice his age. He played like a champ and it was really fun to be there to cheer him on.
I’m so proud of these two.
Christian and Jeremy beat the first team they played in the seeded play. Which was super impressive. But then they played these guys. The Rookies are Spikeball Elite Players and were incredibly good.
Ellee entertained herself for most of the day by playing in the sand. She’s such a trooper.
Our boys played with heart but weren’t able to beat The Rookies. Which was totally fine. Because it was a great day and a great tournament and we all had a fun time which counts for quite a bit too.
The highlight for me, besides watching the tournament was stopping to see Mr. Softee and getting ice cream cones to celebrate the day.
All in all, we had a great time at the Spikeball Tournament. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the beach, Spikeball and a great group of teams. Happy Saturday to everyone!
