We’re home. For the first time in about three weeks and I have to say that it feels so good. That being said, Ellee and I really did have a wonderful time visiting my family in Michigan. As I was going through my pictures, I found a few more gems that I thought I would share.
Leslie has five boys. She always said she wanted a big family of boys, and God certainly granted that desire. This past trip, I really, really enjoyed spending time with these boys. I loved watching Luke fish, with Jonathan close by. And James would sit with me while I told him silly stories and it made for some very sweet moments.
Luke and I had a lot of fun shooting his pellet gun. Shooting is something that I grew up doing, but not something that I’ve done much of in the past 12 years that we’ve been in New York. Throughout the week, we had quite a few competitions and I’m proud to say that I beat my nephew quite a few times. I’m proud because that kid lives and breathes hunting, so the fact that his New York Aunt could beat him was pretty cool to me.
I love seeing my sisters and spending time with them. Throughout the week, we hung out, shopped and really enjoyed each other’s company. I’m so thankful for my sisters and the great things that God is doing in their lives and families.
There are few things in life that my mom loves more than her Grandkids. Thankfully, she has many of them to keep her busy and it was sweet to see how much they loved spending time with her as well.
He’s a fisher. He fishes. Following in the footsteps of his Dad and big brother, Jonathan is the latest to fall in love with the sport. He caught quite a few that we enjoyed eating and he was very proud of his fishing accomplishments. I was super proud too.
No offense, Atlantic Ocean, but nothing beats swimming in clear, fresh water lakes. Ellee adored swimming all throughout the week with her cousins. It made for some very fun and special times.
We were at mine on Sunday. It was familiar and good and I’m glad we got the chance to be there.
Evening Service at the Lake
Leslie and Tim invited the whole church to their home for the Sunday night service. It was a beautiful evening and I loved seeing everyone there.
It was especially cool to get to see our niece Anna get baptized while we were home. Whereas I got baptized in our church’s baptismal, they have since moved many of the baptisms out to the lake. Which is just so beautiful to witness. I’m so proud of Anna for her love for Jesus and her desire to serve and follow Him.
There were many, many little ones running around at Leslie’s home on Sunday evening. These were two friends that stopped long enough for me to capture a quick picture.
Family is forever.
That pretty much sums it up.
Swings by the Lake
Ellee loved them. When she wasn’t swimming, she was swinging with her cousins.
My sister and her family enjoy it every night. Not bad at all.
And finally, the last night we were there, we enjoyed a campfire, complete with sparklers and smores. It was the absolutely perfect way to end an amazing week spent with family.
And that about sums it up. Many happy memories were made in Michigan this summer, and I’m so thankful for the time that we had there.
