So, for the second year in a row, we’ve spent the Fourth of July in Costa Rica. And for the second year in a row, it’s been pretty awesome. Granted, there were no fireworks (though there is a pretty awesome lightning storm happening as I type). But Steven wore a USA shirt and our team did have a pretty memorable day so it all worked out just fine.
Today was actually our excursion day. Tied in with our trip to serve and love has always been one day that we get to really explore the amazing country of Costa Rica. This year, we headed out for a Crocodile tour and a day at an incredible beach resort. I’ll share some pictures from our day in just a minute.
Also, I just wanted to mention for all the parents and team families out there. First off, sorry that I didn’t post this last night. I fell asleep while the pictures we’re uploading. Second, Your kids had an amazing day. With swimming in the Pacific, a few of them got some cuts and scrapes, but nothing that a few band aids and neosporin couldn’t handle. Being in the sun also produced some nice rosy looking faces as well. Besides that, all is well. In the next few days, we will really be kicking up our ministry with Kids Games approaching as well as delving into some great work projects. So please pray for them as they anticipate these upcoming events. Thanks so much for sharing your awesome kids with us!
Our first stop was breakfast and it was delicious!
We stopped to check out a few red macaws and they were incredibly beautiful.
If you look closely, you can see them flying away.
Afterwards, we took a crocodile tour. Which is exactly how you might think it would be. We saw a lot of crocodiles and it was quite fascinating.
We got up close and personal with this big guy. It was scary and awesome at the same time.
Our main destination was an incredible beach resort, equipped with two incredible beaches. It wa very hot and we learned quite quickly that the Costa Rican Pacific is quite warm.
All in all, it’s was the perfect day and an incredible way to spend the Fourth of July.
So, there you have it. Happy Fourth of July everyone!
Exciting! Thanks for sharing
