Getting to the Point

Mondays are Jeremy’s day off and they are my favorite days.  Since Sundays are the busiest days, it’s always nice for us to know that there will be a day of rest following everyone else’s traditional day of rest.

And this Monday?  It was absolutely perfect.

So we hopped on the scooter and took a ride out to the end of Long Island, Montauk Point.

It has a state park and a light house and we love riding out to see them both.

After the lighthouse, we parked the scooter and walked around Montauk.

We found the beach.

And I stepped my first steps into the ocean for the year.  I would have gone further in, but it was freezing and a bit rough, so I stayed content being mostly on the shore.

After the beach, we walked around a bit more to check out a little bit of everything.  Literally.

Then we hopped back on this beauty

And said Farewell to Montauk till the Fall.

I have to say, riding the scooter with Jeremy is one of my all time favorite things.

It’s given us so many opportunities to explore some amazing parts of Long Island.  Including this random trail that we found, when we stopped to check out the scenic overlook.

We didn’t wander too far, mostly because of this sign.  Ticks are the worst.

After a tiny bit of trail hiking, we drove to our final destination of the day.  Lunch.  Again, literally, Lunch.  It’s the name of the restaurant that we love.  We immediately cooled down from our ride with a cold Coke and a frozen lemonade.

Then Jeremy enjoyed the hot Lobster roll, while I settled on the Lobster Bisque and Sweet Potato Fries.  Probably not my  healthiest choices, but most certainly my most delicious ones.

All in all, it was the perfect afternoon.  I’m so thankful for my husband and for these times that we’re able to have together.  I’m also thankful for the perfect day to get out to our favorite Point.  Hope you had a Happy Monday too!
