In college, Robert Frost taught me that “Good fences make good neighbors.”  But as I’ve grown, I think it’s more true that good neighbors make good neighbors.  Growing up in Muskegon, Michigan on Langeland Avenue, we had the best neighbors.  Our next door neighbors were the Winsemius’ and we absolutely loved them.  They invited us over to use their pool on hot summer days and were always good for a friendly wave, sitting on their front porch in the evenings.  In college, I remember having great apartment neighbors, who were always good for that random cup of sugar or whatever else was needed in those poor college student days.  And now that we’ve been in our current home for almost eight years, I’m thankful to share that we have the absolute best neighbors one could ask for.

And tonight, I’m so happy to share about our neighbors just to the east, the McClintocks.  We have known and loved their family for many years, and close to six years ago, when I was just getting my photography business started, I had the privilege of taking family pictures for them.

Later that year, we followed up with pictures taken at Sammi’s Sweet Sixteen.  And I have to say, it’s always a privilege to capture pictures of such a wonderful family, especially one with six incredible kids.

So you can imagine how happy I was this past week, getting to take pictures for the McClintocks yet again.  They were attending a family wedding, and Dawn called me up and asked if I would meet up with them to take some pictures before the wedding.  Of course, I said yes.

Because when you got to know someone’s kids at this age…

It is just so cool to be able to photography them at this age too.

And getting to see sweet girls grow from this

To this?  It’s just such a blessing, as a photographer and as a friend.

Another benefit of taking family pictures, is of course, getting to photograph extended family as well.

I’m always a fan of families taking time to have their pictures taken and love when I get to have the honor of being that photographer.

So a huge thanks… to the McClintocks for being such wonderful neighbors and such wonderful friends as well.  It was an honor and a privilege to be able to capture your beautiful family again!
