Tonight, after watching our favorite college basketball team (Duke) beat my growing up hometown team (Michigan State, though for the record, I was always more of a Michigan fan) and by twenty points no less, I whipped up a little late night dinner for my amazing husband and I. The kids enjoyed an earlier kid friendly dinner and then went to bed a little earlier than usual since we will be waking up bright and early for our church’s Easter Sunrise Service.
Back to dinner. I’ll confess. I was too lazy tonight, to break out the camera and photo-document the whole cooking process. It’s been a long but awesome week, and I was mostly just ready to dive into preparing my latest Home Chef meal. A few nights ago, we enjoyed the Sous-vide Baby Back Ribs (which were amazing by the way). Tonight, I went to work preparing the Wild Mushroom and Swiss Beef Burger with Steak Fries and Homemade Black Truffle Aioli. It all sounds so fancy, right?
This was the second box that I tried from Home Chef. I wrote about the first one a few weeks ago, here. And I have to say, I’m a huge fan. I love the idea that Home Chef does all of the hard work, providing all of the ingredients, along with easy to read recipe cards. All of the meals I’ve tried can be put together in 30 minutes or less, which is also a bonus for those of us with busy schedules.
Tonight’s meal was a great success. Jeremy loved it, which made me just kind of proud of myself for cooking something delicious. I enjoyed it as well and since I have the recipe now, could definitely see myself recreating it in the near future.
