First and Third: Dodgeball

So, every First and Third Friday of the month, we hangout with some of our best youth group students and host a variety of different activities.  We’ve played European Handball, gone to the movies, enjoyed ice cream at Friendy’s and last night, we played Dodgeball.

I suppose I should clarify.  THEY played dodgeball.  I hung out with Ellee and watched from the sideline.  Ever since I was in fifth grade and got hit in the face with a soccer ball (wearing my glasses no less) I have an irrational fear of getting, well, hit in the head with a ball.

This guy, however, has no such fears and is kind of amazing at the game.  Within an hour and a half, he organized a few different variations of the game.

These kids had fun.

Because kids are fearless, I think.

We had a great night, and a great group of kids that came to play.

Ellee practiced jump roping.  Because she is amazing like that.

The kids were awesome and they all got some great exercise in, which I’m sure they all enjoyed.  After this past month of snowy cold, I think we’re all excited for some nicer weather and more outdoor options.  I for one, don’t even mind that it’s the Spring ahead part of Daylight Savings tomorrow, because it means that we’ll finally get some more daylight and one step closer to Spring.

All in all, First and Third Dodgeball night was a great success.  As for me and my weekend, I have to say it started out pretty awesome.  I got up early for my 7:30am gym class, cleaned and laundered a good portion of the house and just got back from a Target date with the family.  I’m looking forward to Springing Ahead tomorrow and to meeting up with our church family at Eastport Bible Church tomorrow at 9:30am.  If you’re local, you should totally join us, because we would love to have you there.  Jeremy is preaching something amazing and it’s going to be a great morning.  After the service, we have classes and groups for everyone.  I’ll be sharing at my Mom’s group and our topic of the morning is, “Reactor or Responder?” and I’m super excited about this discussion, so if you’re a local mom, we would love to have you join our group.  Besides that, have a wonderful Saturday night!
