So, just a few things to share on a snowy Saturday night. Since Winter Storm Neptune decided to grace us with a good amount of snow tonight, Eastport Bible Church’s Sunday morning service will be cancelled. Which is kind of a bummer. Because I was looking forward to leading Children’s Church and seeing all of our amazing church friends.
The GOOD NEWS though, is that we will still be having our annual Spaghetti Supper at 5:30pm at the church. We figure since the snow should stop around noon, that will be plenty of time to get the snow cleared away so you can come and enjoy a free Spaghetti Supper at our church. We’ve been hosting this supper for years and years. It’s always been connected to our Breakaway Youth Retreat and it’s always been delicious. By the way, the sweet girl in the picture is our friend Claudia, who came when she was five and this past year was at Breakaway with us as a student.
Like I mentioned, we’ve been having the Spaghetti Supper for what seems like forever. I’m not sure how old Ben Tuttle was in this picture, but to put things in perspective he will graduate college this year.
And in case you were wondering what the Spaghetti Supper was, it’s this. Decorations and church family and Spaghetti.
The teenagers in our youth group serve up the meal for everyone. It’s a great opportunity for them to serve and it’s always nice to see teenagers doing great things.
I should also point out that John Caprari was one of the teens in our youth group who attended the Spaghetti Supper for years and this past year, he was our retreat Speaker.
It has been an amazing thing to be a part of over the years. We’ve literally seen students grow up.
I think it’s been a great part of their youth group experience and we have loved working with them.
After the supper, we have a worship time upstairs all together. We always show a video from our retreat (Jeremy is working on it as I write and it’s amazing) and the students get a chance to share about the weekend. It’s awesome.
So, all that being said, while church is cancelled tomorrow, the Spaghetti Supper is on! If you are local, please feel free to join us. It will be a nice break from the snow and a delicious meal that we can serve to you. As I mentioned, there is no cost and it will most certainly be a memorable and heart warming night.
