Elee’s Nana gave her the most thoughtful gift for Christmas this past year. Knowing her love for sewing, Nana’s carefully wrapped Christmas package came with beautiful fabrics, patterns and sewing needles. Which I had no idea what to do about. Because I’m not a seamstress and it made no sense at all to me.
Thankfully, Ms. Barb was able to save the day. She and Ellee spend their Thursday afternoons, heads bowed low working on the beautiful sewing machine that she brought for Ellee.
Her knowledgeable hands help Ellee’s and guide them along as they sew and create.
She instills confidence in our dear Ellee every time they work together.
I can visibly see how her constant praise boosts Ellee’s spirits.
It’s a lovely thing. To see others invest in your children.
And at the end of the session, Ellee completed one of the four placemats that Nana sent out for her to make. She will continue to work hard till she has a full set of four, but in the mean time, just beams with pride whenever you ask her about Nana’s Christmas gift.
