It’s been a wonderful weekend. And it all started last night with a Monopoly Tournament in the church basement.
I have to say, in the age of digital this and that, it was really cool to see 20 some kids sitting around actual game boards, rolling real dice and face to face interacting and having a great time.
It was an extra fun night, because one of Jeremy’s Youth Pastor friends, Matt, joined us with a group of his awesome youth group kids.
Speaking of my amazing husband. Fun fact. He’s hard core, when it comes to Monopoly. Which is probably why he wins every time we play. Just something to keep in mind, should you ever find yourself at a Monopoly table with him.
It’s something our daughter’s picked up on. One of the youth group girls offered her $1000 for a property and she refused. She was the first person to end up with all greens and won a prize for it, so I guess it all worked out for her.
Speaking of prizes, we had some fun ones (and no, thankfully Ellee did not win this one). It made for some pretty fun and interesting deals amongst the tables throughout the night.
Our friend, Adam took home the biggest prize of the night.
And, just so you know, this awesome kid won it all at our table. All in all, it was a fantastic game night and it was a wonderful way to kick off our weekend.
Then, this morning started out with an early morning soccer game for Christian and a trip out to the mall. Afterwards, we drove back for our school’s annual Fall Festival. On the way, I made our kids take this picture. They were thrilled, as you can clearly see from the looks on their faces. Sigh.
It was all good, a few minutes later, because they caught up with their friends and had an amazing afternoon.
I caught up with friends too.
And then they caught up with their friends. There was lots of catching up and lots of friends and it was pretty great.
Christian found some friends to throw a football around with and did that for the majority of the afternoon.
And so I walked around, and took fun pictures of amazing and wonderful people, doing all sorts of fun fall things.
All in all, it was a wonderful afternoon. A huge thank you to Tuttle Avenue and Eastport Elementary and their PTO’s and to everyone who put on this amazing event!
