Today was a beautiful balance of VBS in the morning and TAG at night. Day 3 of VBS was fantastic.
The sweet faces of the children we are hanging out with this week are becoming more and more familiar.
Our Skit Crew is doing a fantastic job keeping the children entertained and laughing.
Special shout out to Steve-O who hid in a bush with a floaty around his neck, much to the delight of every child at VBS today.
I stayed back at the church today, to capture some pictures and video of the Pre-K through 4th graders, who were enjoying all sorts of fun.
They were working hard at crafts, which is totally one of my favorite things to do.
It’s something that the 5th and 6th graders don’t do, because they are too busy enjoying pool time. Granted, the pools are fun, but in some ways it’s sad that we miss out on craft time. Because it’s so much fun.
I also got to hang out a little bit with these amazing women. They are the most wonderful women ever, and we are so blessed to have them helping out at the registration table this week. I’m hoping tomorrow that they have their hands full, since it is our official “Bring a Friend” day. It will be a good sort of full, in my opinion, and one that they will be fully capable of handling.
Just to their left, in our neighbor’s yard, I found these cute kids.
Along with these awesome girls who are helping out this week, and inspiring others. One of the girls in my 6th grade class keeps asking me if she will be old enough to help out next year, like the girls that are pictured here. It’s a beautiful thing to see teenagers, inspiring their peers, because of sheer amazingness.
I passed by Thing 1 and Thing 2 enjoying their cookies during snack time.
And also met up with this buddy, who graduated from the preschool where I take pictures. It was so fun to see his sweet face again.
Meanwhile, these kids were playing a bit of Tug O War in the field. Mine is the one with the tiara, which is probably one of the best hair accessory investments I’ve made. It’s on her head, morning till night and she only takes it off when she sleeps.
Then, after a full morning, we enjoyed a cool evening on the beach for our weekly Youth Group that meets down there on Wednesday nights.
We got to meet up with Rick Pilieci and his nearly grown up son. We met Rick when we were at college and have enjoyed knowing him and his family ever since. He’s from Long Island, but is currently serving as an Associate Pastor in Muskegon, where I grew up. It was around the time that he moved to Michigan, that we came out to Long Island to live and serve at Eastport Bible Church, which is his home church. He’s an amazing man and has a wonderful family and we were so happy to spend part of the evening with him.
It was also pretty delightful to see these two crazy kids as well.
Anyhow, later in the evening, Zack inspired us with some solid biblical teaching.
Which led to this skit. Which I could explain, but I’d rather just say it would have made more sense if you were there. And if you’re in Jr. or Sr. High, we would love to have you join us for TAG at the beach, which is our weekly youth group meeting.
All in all, it was a solid Wednesday. We’re looking forward to a few more days of VBS, our closing ceremony for VBS on Friday night and then a weekend trip to Hershey Park. All good things, if you ask me.
