I’ll start with this good, because that is exactly what our trip has mostly been.
Kids Games has been incredible. The program is excellent and we are loving it.
Our team has made many friendships and we are so blessed to have gotten to know so many wonderful people.
But it’s not all been sunshine and roses. As I write, I’m being mildly attacked by some pretty solid mosquitoes. I have fire ant bites on my feet and I have to admit, I’m exhausted. It’s challenging, being a youth leader to a team of 26 different and amazing people. And then, today, we spent all afternoon, painting the steps of the church, only to realize that once the paint was dry, it started bubbling up and flaking off. This happened once we finished painting one and a half sections of the seating area.
So, then we spent the rest of the night, scraping away at what we had just accomplished. And it was pretty character building, and a little disheartening, to say the least. And I struggled. And cried a little bit of frustration, and probably because I miss our kids. But then, I looked for the good. Any I saw the Sydney Opera House, in a scraping of paint. And it made me smile. And I realized, this is all just part of it. Some days aren’t sunshine and roses. But it’s okay. Because God is good, and I trust that he is working good in the lives of our missions team. And I know it’s going to be okay.
All that being said, it’s late. And tomorrow is our last day of Kid Games at Belen. Please pray for our team, as we finish out the week together with the wonderful people we’ve met. Please pray for willing hearts and for a great day together. Thanks so much!
Where did the week go? Thanks for keeping us posted and showing us a little part of what you guys are doing down there. Can’t wait to hear ALL about it! My love, prayers, and wishes for a GREAT end to the trip and a life changing ending for ALL involved! See you Tuesday/Wednesday! Love, John’s Mom!!
