Today, our sweet Ellee had her First Grade Field Day. It seems like there have been a lot of “First Grade” things lately, which to me is strange, because in just a few weeks, our girl will technically have moved past first, heading into second. And that is just crazy.
Back to today though, because the present is always the best place to be. Ellee’s Field Day was fun.
Her class played a handful of field day games.
It was fun seeing Ellee running around with all of her friends.
I’m pretty sure that her favorite activity of the day was when she got to throw these puffy ball things at her teacher, Mr. K.
Yup, she was in her glory.
She was also pretty excited because her amazing Daddy was there to cheer her on too.
The last station of the morning was an obstacle course.
She cautiously proceeded.
And I couldn’t help but love the shy, but proud smile that she wore the entire way through.
Oh, and props to her buddy and his mid-air photobomb.
After Field Day, the parents and students got to gather on the basketball court for a picnic.
It was so fun seeing the kids together with their friends
And their parents too.
Green popsicles made the morning even that much sweeter.
I have to say, I’m so thankful for all of the end of the year memories made. I’m doing my best to hold on to these elementary years, because I know that they will continue to fly by.
